As some of you have already noticed, this past Monday (January 27th) was a busy day of podcasting for me! Not only did I post our 9th raid, but I also appeared as a guest on two additional podcasts. Since so much gets drowned out in the din of war that is social media these days—appearing for a fleeting moment before falling swiftly in battle and fading from memory—I decided to raise this blogpost as a runestone to commemorate them.
First up was Scholar’s Flask: The Podcast, which is co-hosted by Dr. Stephen DeCasien, a colleague from my grad cohort, and Patrick J. Boyle. It was a really fun conversation. Not only did we talk about insightful things like ordinary objects in medieval Icelandic saga literature (and the historical context surrounding them), but also…cheese, men’s nipples, and punting dwarves into fires! Brilliant stuff. You can listen to that conversation right here:
My other appearance was on the Vikings & Valkyries Podcast, wherein I played a disgruntled, Odinesque character named Hrani. (If you know, you know.) It’s a live-action role play set in an alternative, Norse-dominated universe called the Vikingverse. Does my episode end well? Um…you’ll have to see for yourself, but I think I made a great sacrifi—I mean, guest! Here’s where you can tune in to that:
So yeah! I’m wandering again—digitally. I’ve got a few other appearances already planned for the future, too. I’ll yap about them when they release. But I hope you enjoy the extra content!
